In October 2019, PokerStars’ parent company, The Stars Group, was acquired by gambling conglomerate Flutter Entertainment for US$6.95 billion. Headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, the company also holds satellite offices in Ceuta, Isle of Man, Leeds, London, Malta, Sofia, and Toronto. PokerStars is an international gambling company founded in 2001 as part of Canadian gambling company The Stars Group As of 2023, it operates the largest real money online poker website in the world, controlling over two-thirds of the total online poker market.
